Designed and built by award winning Master Builders Haven NZ Ltd in 2004, this builder's own home was designed by Gary Millington, owner and Managing Director of Haven.

Gary has a particular interest in architecture and a passion for great design. For some time Gary had been researching the architectural design concept of stacking 'boxes'. For his own home he was keen to try something different, and was also interested in the construction challenges involved with positioning and cantilevering a larger 'box' on top of a smaller one.

The unique design of this home was the result, where the top cedar-clad 'box' is cantilevered out over its solid concrete block base.

A large double-sliding window that spans the entire width of the house front gives a panoramic view across Pukekohe and its rural surrounds.
